तारकपीडितदेवशरणागतिḥ — The Devas Seek Refuge from Tāraka
ततो नैव वधो योग्यो यतो वृद्धिमुपागतः । विष वृक्षोऽपि संवर्ध्य स्वयं छेत्तुमसांप्रतम्
tato naiva vadho yogyo yato vṛddhimupāgataḥ | viṣa vṛkṣo'pi saṃvardhya svayaṃ chettumasāṃpratam
لہٰذا اب اس کا قتل مناسب نہیں، کیونکہ وہ بڑھ کر طاقتور ہو چکا ہے؛ جیسے زہریلا درخت بھی جب خوب بڑھ جائے تو اپنی مرضی سے آسانی سے کاٹا نہیں جاتا۔

It teaches that harmful tendencies—outer threats or inner vices—must be checked early; once they mature, overcoming them becomes difficult. Shaiva Siddhanta frames this as weakening pāśa (bondage) before it hardens into strong karma and habit.
Linga-worship centers the mind in Shiva as Pati (the liberating Lord). By steady devotion and discipline, one prevents the ‘poison-tree’ of ignorance and vice from growing—turning worship into a practical method for timely inner purification.
Adopt daily Shiva-sādhana early and consistently—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and prayerful restraint—so negative impulses are cut at the root rather than allowed to strengthen.
