FAQs

It joins outer Shaiva marks (Tripuṇḍra with mantra) to inner realization: the devotee is instructed to turn inward and contemplate Śiva seated in the heart-lotus, together with Śakti—signifying grace (anugraha) and the unity of Pati with His power in the path to liberation.

Tripuṇḍra and mantra are traditional aids of Saguna upāsanā: they sanctify the body as a temple of Śiva. The meditation on Śiva “in the heart-lotus” internalizes Linga-worship—moving from external ritual to subtle, inward worship where Śiva is contemplated as the indwelling Lord.

Apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) while reciting the mantras beginning with “Agni…”, then perform dhyāna by visualizing Śiva seated in the heart-lotus along with the Divine Consort (Śakti/Umā).
