Kṣaura-Snāna-Vidhi — Rite of Tonsure/Shaving and Purificatory Bath (Śaiva Procedure)
त्रिवारमोमिति प्रोच्य शिवपादाम्बुजं स्मरन् । संसाराम्बुधिसंतारं सदा यद्विधितो हि सः
trivāramomiti procya śivapādāmbujaṃ smaran | saṃsārāmbudhisaṃtāraṃ sadā yadvidhito hi saḥ
تین بار ‘اوم’ کہہ کر اور بھگوان شِو کے قدموں کے کنول کا دھیان کرتے ہوئے، وہ شاستری ودھی کے مطابق ہمیشہ سنسار کے سمندر سے پار ہونے کے لیے مقرر ہوتا ہے۔

It teaches that mantra-japa of “Om” combined with bhakti-filled remembrance of Śiva’s lotus-feet becomes a divinely sanctioned means to transcend saṃsāra and move toward liberation under Śiva’s grace.
Though “Om” points to the supreme reality, the verse anchors practice in Saguna devotion—contemplation of Śiva’s lotus-feet—harmonizing mantra with a personal focus that is also central to Liṅga-worship in the Purāṇic tradition.
Chant “Om” three times with steadied mind, then meditate on Śiva’s lotus-feet as the inner refuge; this can be done as a daily japa-dhyāna practice, especially before or after pūjā.
