Indrajit and Lakshmana: War-Boasts, Rebuke, and the Clash
तीक्षणसायकनिर्भन्नान्शूलशक्त्यृष्टितोमरैः ।।।।अद्यवोगमयिष्यामिसर्वानेनयमक्षयम् ।
tīkṣaṇasāyakanirbhannān śūlaśaktyṛṣṭitomaraiḥ |
adya vo gamayiṣyāmi sarvān ena yamakṣayam ||
آج میں تم سب کو یم کے ابدی دھام کی طرف روانہ کر دوں گا—تیز تیروں سے چھید کر اور ترشول، نیزوں، برچھیوں اور بھالوں کی ضرب سے۔
"See my valour and prowess now. I will release shower of arrows from the sky like rain and it will be difficult for others to counter."
Dharma is highlighted by contrast: the dharmic warrior fights for protection and justice, not for the relish of death-dealing; Indrajit’s words show violence as domination.
Indrajit threatens total destruction, invoking Yama’s abode and listing weapons to project inevitability.
The virtue called forth is fearlessness rooted in righteous purpose; the opposing trait displayed is ruthless intimidation.
