"Who can stand in front of me if I release rain of arrows with my swift hand in the battle roaring like a rain cloud?"
The verse underscores steadiness (dhairya) in duty: true strength is not mere aggression, but the capacity to stand one’s ground and act effectively for one’s cause.
The duel escalates: both warriors remain positioned and unleash heavy volleys of arrows, locked in direct contest.
Firm resolve and martial excellence; for Lakṣmaṇa, these serve dharma (protecting Rāma’s mission), while Indrajit’s prowess serves a rival, adharmic cause.
