The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
ekaṁ dvau trīn bahūn kruddho vānarān saha rākṣasaiḥ |
samādāyaika-hastena pracikṣepa tvaran mukhe ||
Taking one, two, three, and many Vanaras along with Rakshasas hastily with one hand he was gulping them.
The verse underscores the ethical collapse that occurs when wrath rules action; Dharma is incompatible with violence driven purely by rage and appetite.
Kumbhakarṇa is physically overpowering fighters, grabbing them effortlessly and devouring them mid-battle.
The implied virtue is courage with discipline; mere strength without restraint becomes monstrous rather than heroic.
