Smacked by him (Ravana), Hanuman, a brilliant and intelligent one stood firm for a while and picking up courage, highly enraged struck the enemy of gods with his palm.
Dharma includes disciplined strength: even when shaken, Hanumān restores self-control (steadiness) before acting. The sequence suggests that righteous power is guided by composure, not blind reaction.
Rāvaṇa strikes Hanumān; Hanumān staggers, regains balance, and retaliates by striking Rāvaṇa.
Hanumān’s fortitude and presence of mind—he recovers steadiness first, then responds with force.
