Ravana Dispatches Vajradamshtra; Portents and Angada’s Assault
एतानौत्पातिकान् दृष्टवावज्रदंष्ट्रोमहाबलः ।धैर्यमालम्भ्यतेजस्वीनिर्जगामरणोत्सुकः ।।।।
etān autpātikān dṛṣṭvā vajradaṃṣṭro mahābalaḥ |
dhairyam ālambhya tejasvī nirjagāma raṇotsukaḥ ||
ان آفت انگیز شگونوں کو دیکھ کر، عظیم قوت والا وجرَدَمشٹر—روشن جلال والا—حوصلہ باندھ کر، جنگ کے شوق میں، میدان کی طرف نکل پڑا۔
Then the fierce animals indicated the death of Rakshasas, who were going deluded with war and fell down.
Courage is not automatically dharmic; Dharma requires right discernment—bravery used in an unjust cause becomes misplaced valor.
Despite ominous signs, Vajradaṃṣṭra gathers courage and goes out from Laṅkā to fight.
Valor (śaurya/dhairya) is highlighted, though the verse invites reflection on whether it is guided by righteous judgment.
