यवीयानस्यतुभ्रातापश्यैनंपर्वतोपमम् ।भ्रात्रासमानोरूपेणविशिष्टस्तुपराक्रमैः ।।।।सएषजाम्बवान्नाममहायूथपयूथपः ।प्रक्रान्तोगुरुवर्तीचसम्प्रहारेष्वमर्षण ।।।।
yavīyān asya tu bhrātā paśyainaṃ parvatopamam | bhrātrā samāno rūpeṇa viśiṣṭas tu parākramaiḥ ||
sa eṣa jāmbavān nāma mahā-yūthapa-yūthapaḥ | prakrānto guru-vartī ca samprahāreṣv amarṣaṇaḥ ||
اس کو دیکھو، جو قامت میں پہاڑ کے مانند ہے—یہ اُس سردار کا چھوٹا بھائی ہے؛ صورت میں بھائی کے مشابہ ہے مگر شجاعت و پرाकرم میں ممتاز۔ یہ جامبوان نامی ہے، یوथپوں کا مہایوथپ؛ عمل میں پیش قدم، بزرگوں کا ادب کرنے والا، اور گھمسان کے سنگرام میں ہرگز نہ جھکنے والا۔
"See this one like a mountain, he is the brother of Dhumra. Even though he is similar to his brother in body form and his valour is great. As such he is superior among leaders. He is called Jambavan, one of valourous deeds, devoted to elders and intolerant in killing."
True leadership joins strength with dharmic conduct—especially guru-vartanā (proper regard for elders/mentors) alongside courage in battle.
Sāraṇa points out and characterizes Jāmbavān among the Vānara chiefs while reporting to Rāvaṇa.
