Envoy-Ethics and the Episode of Śuka
नमेऽसिमित्रंनतथानुकम्प्योनचोपकर्तापिनमेप्रियोऽसि ।अरिश्चरामस्यसहानुबन्धस्ततोऽसिवालीववधार्हवध्यः ।।।।
na me 'si mitraṃ na tathānukampyo na copakartāpi na me priyo 'si |
ariś ca rāmasya sahānubandhas tato 'si vālīva vadhārhavadhyaḥ ||
تو نہ میرا دوست ہے، نہ رحم کے لائق؛ نہ تو میرا محسن ہے اور نہ ہی مجھے عزیز۔ تو رام کے دشمن کے ساتھ بندھا ہوا دشمن ہے؛ اس لیے والی کی طرح تو قتل کے لائق ہے۔
"O Rakshasa, you are the one who deserves death! (Convey to Ravana this as my word). You are an enemy to my friend, like wise you are not worthy of sympathy, not my well wisher and also not dear to me. You are Rama's enemy, so like your relative Vali you are to be killed."
