हताश्वात्त्तुस्वोवेगादवप्लुत्यमहारथात् ।कोपमाहारत्तीव्रंभ्रातरंप्रतिरावणः ।।।।
hatāśvāt tu svo vegād avaplutya mahārathāt | kopam āhārat tīvraṃ bhrātaraṃ prati rāvaṇaḥ ||
جب اس کے گھوڑے مارے گئے تو راون اپنے عظیم رتھ سے تیزی سے کود پڑا اور اپنے بھائی کی طرف سخت و شدید غضب لے کر لپکا۔
Then, endowed with extraordinary energy, the powerful leader of Rakshasas hurled a flaming thunderbolt like javelin at Vibheeshana.
Adharma is marked by uncontrolled anger and hostility even toward kin; Dharma requires restraint and recognizing truth even when it comes from one’s own family.
After losing his horses, Rāvaṇa dismounts and turns his fury specifically against Vibhīṣaṇa.
By contrast, the verse highlights the danger of krodha (anger) as a vice—Rāvaṇa’s lack of self-control drives him deeper into wrongdoing.
