दूत्यम् / Hanuman’s Mediation and Lakshmana’s Appeal to Sugriva
न द्वेष्टा विद्यते तस्य न च स द्वेष्टि कञ्चन।स च सर्वेषु भूतेषु पितामह इवापरः।।अग्निष्टोमादिभिर्यज्ञैरिष्टवानाप्तदक्षिणैः।
na dveṣṭā vidyate tasya na ca sa dveṣṭi kañcana | sa ca sarveṣu bhūteṣu pitāmaha ivāparaḥ || agniṣṭomādibhir yajñair iṣṭavān āptadakṣiṇaiḥ |
اُس کا کوئی دشمن نہ تھا، اور نہ وہ کسی سے عداوت رکھتا تھا؛ وہ سب جانداروں میں گویا ایک اور پِتامہہ تھا—برہما جی کی مانند۔ اور اس نے اگنِشٹوم وغیرہ یگیہ کیے، اور مناسب دکشِنا (نذرانہ) عطا کیا۔
'He never hated any one nor did any one ever hate him. To all his subjects, he was like another father, the Creator Brahma. And he was generous in giving gifts while performing yajnas (rituals with fire) like Agnistoma.
Dharma expresses itself as freedom from hatred and as generosity in sacred duties: the king sustains harmony and supports ritual obligations with rightful giving.
Lakṣmaṇa continues describing Daśaratha’s character to show the righteous lineage from which Rāma comes.
Daśaratha’s benevolence—non-hostility toward subjects and dutiful generosity in yajñas.
