Daśaratha’s Departure to Videha and Marriage Arrangements
diṣṭyā prāpto mahātejā vasiṣṭho bhagavān ṛṣiḥ |
saha sarvair dvijaśreṣṭhair devair iva śatakratuḥ || 1.69.10 ||
Most brilliant and adorable ascetic Vasishta surrounded by the foremost of brahmins like Indra by the gods has also arrived by the grace of God.
Ritual and social dharma: major life-rites are to be conducted under the guidance of qualified sages and brāhmaṇas, ensuring legitimacy and sanctity.
Daśaratha notes the auspicious arrival of his royal preceptor Vasiṣṭha along with eminent brāhmaṇas for the forthcoming marriage rites.
Reverence for spiritual authority—Daśaratha treats the presence of Vasiṣṭha as a sign of divine favor.
