Commencement and Performance of Daśaratha’s Aśvamedha
नाषडङ्गविदत्रासीन्नाव्रतो नाबहुश्रुत:।सदस्यास्तस्य वै राज्ञो नावादकुशला द्विजा:।।।।
nāṣaḍaṅgavid atrāsīn nāvrato nābahuśrutaḥ |
sadasyās tasya vai rājño nāvādakuśalā dvijāḥ ||
اس راجہ کے یَجْن کے منڈپ میں کوئی ایسا رِتْوِج یا سَہائک پُجاری نہ تھا جو شَڈَنگ (وید کے چھ اَنگ) سے ناواقف ہو، ورت میں بےوفا ہو، کم علم ہو، یا شاسترارتھ میں ناتجربہ کار ہو؛ اس کے سب برہمن سَدَسْی مناظرے اور ویدک ودھان میں ماہر تھے۔
