Sarga 75: Bharata and Kausalya—Reproach, Oaths, and Reconciliation
सतां लोकात्सतां कीर्त्या स्सञ्जुष्टात्कर्मणस्तथा।भ्रश्यतु क्षिप्रमद्यैव यस्यार्योऽनुमते गतः।।।।
satāṃ lokāt satāṃ kīrtyā sañjuṣṭāt karmaṇas tathā | bhraśyatu kṣipram adyaiva yasyāryo 'numate gataḥ ||
جس شخص کی رضامندی سے میرا شریف بھائی جلاوطنی کو گیا، وہ آج ہی فوراً نیکوں کے لوک سے، نیکوں کی کیرتی سے، اور اُن اعمال سے جو صالحین کو پسند ہیں، گِر کر محروم ہو جائے۔
May the one who counselled the exile of my esteemed brother be expelled this very moment from the world approved by virtuous men, from their renown and from their (noble) actions!
Dharma is socially and morally validated: separation from the ‘sat’ (the good) and loss of honorable reputation are presented as consequences of unrighteous enabling.
Bharata invokes exclusion from the moral community as the fitting outcome for the one responsible for Rama’s exile.
Honor-conscious righteousness: Bharata values kīrti rooted in good deeds and the approval of the virtuous.
