Departure from Ayodhya; Civic Lament and the Chariot’s Urgency
वनवासं हि संख्याय वासांस्याभरणानि च।भर्तारमनुगच्छन्त्यै सीतायै श्वशुरो ददौ।।।।
vanavāsaṃ hi saṅkhyāya vāsāṃsy ābharaṇāni ca | bhartāram anugacchantyai sītāyai śvaśuro dadau ||
جنگل میں قیام کے برس گن کر، سسر نے سیتا کو کپڑے اور زیورات عطا کیے، کیونکہ وہ اپنے پتی کے پیچھے پیچھے جانے والی تھیں۔
So also Dasaratha secured a multitude of weapons, shields and protective leather-coverings for hands and placed them at the centre of the chariot, for use by the brothers. When Sumantra ensured that Sita, Rama and Lakshmana boarded the chariot, he briskly hastened the horses which were as speedy as the wind.
