Transliteration

sāgaraḥ samayaṃ kṛtvā na velām ativartate |

samayaṃ mā anṛtaṃ kārṣīḥ pūrvavṛttam anusmaran || 2.12.44 ||

Translation

سمندر نے عہد باندھ کر کبھی ساحل کی حد سے تجاوز نہیں کیا؛ پچھلے بادشاہوں کے کارنامے یاد کر کے تم بھی اپنے عہد کو جھوٹا نہ کرنا۔
