Bharata’s Petition and Rama’s Dharma-Reasoning
तस्य मे दासभूतस्य प्रसादं कर्तुमर्हसि।अभिषिञ्चस्व चाद्येव राज्येन मघवानिव।।।।
tasya me dāsa-bhūtasya prasādaṃ kartum arhasi |
abhiṣiñcasva ca adya eva rājyena maghavān iva ||
میں جو آپ کا بندہ بن کر کھڑا ہوں، مجھ پر کرم فرمانا آپ کے شایان ہے؛ آج ہی راجیہ سے آپ کا ابھیشیک کیجیے، جیسے مگھوان (اِندر) کا ہوتا ہے۔
It behoves you to grant me a favour. I am like your servant. Now get yourself coronated in the kingdom like Indra.
Rajadharma: the rightful ruler should accept responsibility for the welfare of the people; humility and service support rightful governance.
Bharata pleads for immediate coronation of Rāma, presenting himself as subordinate and urging restoration of proper order in Ayodhyā.
Bharata’s humility and self-effacement: he frames himself as Rāma’s servant rather than a rival claimant.
