The Queens Behold Rama’s Śrāddha Offering
सौमित्रिरपि ता स्सर्वा मातृ़स्सम्प्रेक्ष्य दुःखितः।अभ्यवादयतासक्तं शनै रामादनन्तरम्।।2.103.20।।
saumitrir api tāḥ sarvā mātṝḥ samprekṣya duḥkhitaḥ | abhyavādayatāsaktaṃ śanai rāmād anantaram ||
سومِتری نندن لکشمن بھی اُن سب ماؤں کو دیکھ کر غمگین ہو گئے؛ رام کے پیچھے پیچھے چلتے ہوئے، انہوں نے آہستہ آہستہ عقیدت سے اُنہیں پرنام کیا۔
On seeing his mothers, Lakshmana, too, was overcome with grief and with devotion followed Rama and slowly bowed to them with reverence.
It reinforces maryādā: even in sorrow, one upholds respectful salutation to elders; devotion is shown through disciplined conduct, not only emotion.
After Rama salutes the queens, Lakshmana follows and offers his own reverent bow to the mothers.
