पितृमरणश्रवणं जलक्रिया च

तेषां तु रुदतां शब्दात् प्रतिशब्दोऽभवद् गिरौ।भ्रातॄणां सह वैदेह्या सिंहानां नर्दतामिव।।।।
tēṣāṃ tu rudatāṃ śabdāt pratiśabdo ’bhavad girau |
bhrātṝṇāṃ saha vaidēhyā siṃhānām iva nardatām ||
ان کے رونے کی آواز سے—ویدیہی سمیت—پہاڑ پر گونج پیدا ہوئی، گویا شیروں کی دھاڑ ہو۔
