Lakshmana Consoles Rama on Fate, Fortitude, and Right Action

नष्टायामपि वैदेह्यां हृतायामपि चानघशोचितुं नार्हसे वीर यथान्यः प्राकृतस्तथा।।3.66.13।।

Transliteration

naṣṭāyām api vaidehyāṃ hṛtāyām api cānagha |

śocituṃ nārhase vīra yathānyaḥ prākṛtas tathā || 3.66.13 ||

Translation

اے بےعیب (انَگھ) سورما! اگرچہ ویدیہی (سیتا) گم ہو گئی ہو، یا اغوا کر لی گئی ہو، پھر بھی تمہیں کسی عام آدمی کی طرح غم میں ٹوٹ جانا مناسب نہیں۔ تمہارا دھرم ثابت قدمی اور مقصدی کرم کا تقاضا کرتا ہے، نہ کہ بےبس نوحہ۔
