मारीचाश्रमगमनम्
Ravana’s Journey to Maricha’s Hermitage
तत्र वैखानसा माषा वालखिल्या मरीचिपाः।।।।अजा बभूवुर्धूम्राश्च सङ्गताः परमर्षयः।
tatra vaikhānasā māṣā vālakhilyā marīcipāḥ | ajā babhūvur dhūmrāś ca saṅgatāḥ paramarṣayaḥ ||
وہاں عظیم رِشی اکٹھے تھے: ویکھانَس، ماش، والکھِلیہ، مریچیپ، نیز اجا اور دھومر—سب کے سب پرم رِشی۔
Gathered together under the great tree were great sages like vaikhanasas, mashas, marichipas, valakhilyas, ajas and dhumras.
The verse highlights the sanctity of ascetic communities; protecting such gatherings is treated as a dharmic imperative in the epic’s moral world.
A sacred tree/region is described as the meeting-place of multiple lineages of great seers.
