Vyāsa

Concept: Ahimsā, satya, and vāṅ-niyama: avoid harm, falsehood, hurtful speech, and theft—ethical purity as the foundation of higher attainments.

Application: Practice a daily ‘fourfold check’: (1) no harm in action, (2) truth in speech, (3) kindness in tone, (4) honesty in dealings; pause before speaking to ensure it is true, beneficial, and gentle.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: karuna

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Vyāsa sits beneath a broad banyan, his matted locks and calm gaze embodying restraint, while disciples listen with folded hands. Around them, small vignettes show the teaching in life: a hand lowered from striking, a tongue restrained from harsh words, and a returned object placed gently back into its owner’s basket.","primary_figures":["Vyāsa","disciples (śiṣyas)"],"setting":"Forest āśrama with banyan tree, deer nearby, a simple kuśa-grass seat, and a quiet riverlet in the distance.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["sandalwood beige","forest green","ochre","river silver-blue","rust brown"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Vyāsa under a banyan teaching disciples, with gold leaf halo and ornate arch; side panels as symbolic mini-scenes of ahiṁsā, satya, and honest conduct; rich reds/greens, jewel-like detailing, traditional South Indian ornamentation and patterned textiles.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: lyrical forest hermitage at dawn, Vyāsa teaching in gentle profile; delicate brushwork, soft greens and cool blues, refined faces; small narrative vignettes integrated into the landscape like story-bubbles.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: central seated Vyāsa with bold outlines and stylized banyan leaves; disciples in symmetrical arrangement; symbolic motifs (closed fist, calm mouth, returned object) rendered as emblematic icons; red-yellow-green palette with temple-wall rhythm.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: devotional didactic tableau framed by lotus and creeper borders; central sage-teacher with peacocks and cows as symbols of gentleness; deep blue ground with gold highlights, intricate floral patterns emphasizing purity and restraint."}
