V
Vishnu (Viṣṇu)

FAQs

It presents Viṣṇu’s adhiṣṭhāna as a supremely purifying sacred locus: contact with it (pilgrimage, worship, or residence) is said to destroy sin, generate merit, and culminate in liberation.

By attributing sin-destruction, merit, and mokṣa to Viṣṇu’s adhiṣṭhāna, the verse frames devotion to Viṣṇu—especially through approaching His sacred place—as an effective spiritual path.

The implied ethic is reform through sacred orientation: one should turn away from wrongdoing and seek purification via devotion and holy association, using that purified life to pursue liberation rather than repeated fault.
