स वै विचिंतयामास सौवर्णान्प्रेक्ष्य वायसान् । मेरुरुत्तममध्यानामधमानां च पक्षिणाम्

sa vai viciṃtayāmāsa sauvarṇānprekṣya vāyasān | meruruttamamadhyānāmadhamānāṃ ca pakṣiṇām

سنہری رنگ کے کوّوں کو دیکھ کر اُس نے دل میں سوچا: “پرندوں میں اعلیٰ، اوسط اور ادنیٰ ہوتے ہیں—جیسے مِرو پہاڑ سب میں برتر ہے۔”
