Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: tirtha

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"At Kapilā-tīrtha, the river widens into a calm, luminous stretch. A pilgrim emerges from the water with folded hands; behind him, a symbolic procession of a thousand cows appears as a faint golden vision, indicating the invisible merit accrued through snāna.","primary_figures":["a pilgrim/kingly seeker","priests at the ghāṭa","symbolic golden cows (visionary motif)"],"setting":"Broad river-ghāṭa with carved steps, small pavilion, offering trays of flowers and sesame","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit at early morning, soft divine glow on water","color_palette":["champagne gold","river sapphire-blue","stone gray","marigold orange","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Kapilā-tīrtha ghāṭa with devotee in añjali, priests holding lamps; gold leaf waves and a halo-like arc of miniature cows in gold behind the devotee; rich reds/greens, ornate borders, gem-studded detailing.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: expansive river scene with delicate reflections; devotee and priests small against nature; a subtle translucent band of golden cows in the sky; cool blues and gentle greens, refined linework.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized ghāṭa and river bands, devotee centered, priests flanking; cows as patterned golden silhouettes; bold outlines, natural pigments, symmetrical mural composition.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: river scene framed by lotus and floral borders; incorporate cow motifs densely in the border to signify go-sahasra-phala; deep blues, gold highlights, intricate Nathdwara-like ornamentation (even if Viṣṇu is implicit)."}

Kapilā-tīrtha

FAQs

It maps a specific pilgrimage point—Kapilā-tīrtha—within the Svarga-khaṇḍa’s tīrtha itinerary, presenting sacred geography as a sequence of recommended destinations and rites (here, bathing).

While not explicitly devotional in language, it frames sacred action (tīrtha-yātrā and snāna) as a meritorious practice endorsed by scripture, encouraging reverent participation in holy places as a supportive limb of devotional life.

It promotes accessible, non-harmful religious merit through purification and pilgrimage, and it highlights the traditional valuation of generosity (the ‘thousand cows’ benchmark) by equating tīrtha-bathing merit with a renowned form of charitable giving.
