पद्महस्तस्तमोभेदी ऋग्वेदो यजुस्सामगः । कालप्रियं पुंडरीकं मूलस्थानं च भावितम्

وہ ہاتھ میں کنول لیے، تاریکی کو چیرنے والا ہے—رِگ، یجُر اور سام وید کا مجسم۔ وہ کال (زمان) کو محبوب ہے؛ سفید پُنڈریک کنول اور اصل آستانہ بھی اس کے نِواس کے طور پر دھیان کیے جاتے ہیں۔
