रतिश्च तत्र मेनाभूत्ततः प्राप्ता त्वदंतिकम् । इत्युक्तः शंकरः शंकां चित्ते प्राप्तो विचारयन्

ratiśca tatra menābhūttataḥ prāptā tvadaṃtikam | ityuktaḥ śaṃkaraḥ śaṃkāṃ citte prāpto vicārayan

“اور وہاں رتی میرے سامنے ظاہر ہوئی؛ پھر وہ وہاں سے تمہارے قریب آ گئی۔” یہ سن کر شنکر کے دل میں ایک شبہ جاگا اور وہ غور و فکر میں پڑ گیا۔
