Uncertain from single-verse context (likely a counselor/ally addressing Rāma in the Laṅkā campaign narrative)

Concept: Right counsel turns daunting impossibilities into executable dharmic action—plan (setu-bandha) and courage (crossing) must unite.

Application: When facing a ‘vast ocean’ problem, articulate a plan, then take the decisive step; courage is strengthened by clarity.

Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: city

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A war-counsel scene on the seashore: a trusted advisor gestures toward the distant silhouette of golden Laṅkā across the churning waters. Rāma stands poised, bow in hand, gaze unwavering, as the ocean’s expanse becomes a canvas for destiny and dharma.","primary_figures":["Rāma (Rāghava)","Counselor/ally (e.g., Vibhīṣaṇa or a vānarī leader, context-dependent)","Vānara troops (background)"],"setting":"Sandy shore with war camp banners, waves rolling in, distant Laṅkā faint on the horizon.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["deep indigo","sea-green","sunrise gold","vermillion","ivory"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Rāma with ornate gold halo and jeweled bow, advisor pointing toward Laṅkā; stylized ocean with gold-leaf wave crests, rich reds/greens in garments, gem-studded ornaments, temple-arch framing the shoreline council.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate shoreline panorama, translucent waves, distant Laṅkā as a tiny golden citadel; refined faces, soft dawn gradient, lyrical composition with minimal ornament and crisp linework.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, Rāma in iconic stance with large eyes, advisor in respectful posture; patterned ocean bands, warm yellow-red background, temple mural symmetry and ornamental borders.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Rāma figure with lotus and conch motifs, ocean rendered as repeating indigo patterns; floral borders, peacocks and cows as decorative elements, gold highlights suggesting the sacred mission toward Laṅkā."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"narrative","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["rolling waves","war drums (soft)","conch shell","seagulls"]}

FAQs

It references the liminal sacred geography of the southern ocean (mahā-udadhi) and the route to Laṅkā via setubandha (the bridge), a motif later associated with Setu/Rāmeśvara as a pilgrimage landscape.

By addressing Rāma as “Rāghava” and urging decisive action in his divinely framed mission, the verse supports devotion through remembrance of Rāma’s deeds (līlā-smaraṇa) and commitment to righteous purpose.

It highlights resolve and duty: after counsel is given (“I have told you”), one should act with courage and steadiness to complete a righteous objective, even when facing vast obstacles symbolized by the great ocean.
