Not explicitly stated in the provided excerpt (context needed from surrounding verses of Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa 1.3).

Concept: Cosmic upheaval is ordered under the Lord’s praised presence; even turbulence (sound, clouds, winds) becomes part of a harmonized restoration.

Application: Reframe turbulence as energy to be directed: let ‘hoof-strikes’ (effort) churn stagnation, but keep praise/remembering as the stabilizing center so movement becomes constructive.

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"The tips of Varaha’s hooves strike and rake the waters, sending torrents spiraling downward toward Rasātala while a continuous subterranean rumble rises like a drumline beneath creation. Above, ranks of rain-clouds assemble in layered bands, and the Lord’s breath-winds circle him in visible spirals, as if the atmosphere itself is being re-formed around his praised body.","primary_figures":["Varaha","personified clouds (optional)","elemental winds (personified or abstract)"],"setting":"A vertical cosmic cross-section: lower Rasātala receiving waters; mid-zone of churning ocean; upper sky thick with cloud rows.","lighting_mood":"storm-lit with divine highlights","color_palette":["slate gray","deep indigo","sea green","electric silver","warm gold"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: dynamic Varaha with emphasized hooves and swirling wave patterns; gold leaf used for breath-wind spirals and lightning-like highlights; layered cloud bands with embossed gold accents; rich jewel tones and ornate borders.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: elegant storm-scape with delicate cloud layering, fine wave stippling, Varaha central with restrained ornamentation; cool mountain-like palette of indigo and gray, subtle gold wash for divine breath currents.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold black outlines for Varaha and stylized wave curls; cloud rows rendered as rhythmic bands; breath-winds as looping motifs; strong red/yellow accents against blue-gray storm field, temple-wall compositional symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: decorative cloud garlands in repeating rows, stylized waves below, central Varaha; intricate floral borders; deep blue cloth with gold highlights suggesting wind-currents and rumbling sound as radiating motifs."}

R
Rasātala

FAQs

It depicts a cosmic scene where waters descend to Rasātala, accompanied by continuous rumbling, while clouds and breath-like winds circulate around a praised being—an image typical of Purāṇic cosmography.

The verse itself does not name the figure; identifying the “praised one” requires the immediately preceding and following verses in Adhyaya 3.

It emphasizes the vast, ordered dynamism of creation—waters, sounds, winds, and clouds functioning in a coordinated cosmic system—reinforcing the Purāṇic view of an interconnected universe.
