Ś
Śiva (Tryambaka/Traiyambaka)

FAQs

It prescribes a Chaturdaśī (14th tithi) observance where one eats only at night (naktāśī) and, upon completing the vow, gives a pair of cows (go-yuga) as dāna.

The verse states that the practitioner attains “śaivaṃ padam”—the state/abode associated with Śiva.

“Traiyambaka” (related to Tryambaka/Śiva) is presented as the traditional name of this specific vow/ritual observance described in the verse.
