Concept: Greed and attachment to wealth (the jewel) can distort perception and generate false blame.

Primary Rasa: raudra

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

Type: city

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Satrājit stands amid a ring of Yādavas and townsfolk, his face tight with certainty, hands gesturing toward the absent jewel as if it were proof. Behind them, Dvārakā’s streets churn with rumor—faces half-lit, eyes sharp, the city’s devotion momentarily eclipsed by suspicion.","primary_figures":["Satrājit","Yādavas","townspeople","Govinda (Krishna) (implied/at a distance)"],"setting":"Dvārakā street near a royal assembly space; banners, carved stone, sea-breeze atmosphere","lighting_mood":"forest dappled","color_palette":["sandstone beige","sea-green","turmeric yellow","crimson","midnight blue"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Satrājit in regal attire points emphatically while Yādavas cluster in ornate jewelry; Dvārakā architecture with gold-leaf borders and rich reds/greens; expressive faces showing suspicion; gem-like highlights on ornaments; traditional compositional symmetry with a moral-drama intensity.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: a crowded street scene with delicate linework; Satrājit’s accusatory gesture central; cool coastal light; refined facial expressions; subtle narrative details like whispering figures and turning heads; lyrical yet tense atmosphere.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines; Satrājit and Yādavas rendered with stylized eyes and strong posture; patterned city backdrop; saturated reds and yellows; dramatic grouping to emphasize accusation and collective agitation.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Krishna’s presence suggested at the edge, while the crowd forms a decorative circular rhythm; floral borders and lotus motifs contrast with human suspicion; deep blues and gold; peacocks and cows as silent witnesses to dharma."}

Syamantaka jewel (maṇi)

FAQs

It refers to the Syamantaka jewel episode, where Satrājit and others suspect Govinda (Kṛṣṇa) of killing Prasena due to the jewel.

It highlights a common Purāṇic theme: the Lord (Kṛṣṇa) is wrongly suspected due to worldly motives, and the narrative typically resolves by revealing His innocence and upholding His dharma—reinforcing trust and devotion.

The verse cautions against hasty judgment and blame driven by greed or rumor; it underscores the need for evidence, fairness, and restraint before accusing others.
