Narrator (contextual; specific speaker not explicit in this single verse)

Concept: After ritual sanctification, the sage proceeds to a sacred water-body; tīrtha-snana complements fire-rites, symbolizing holistic purification (outer rite + inner joy).

Application: Balance ‘fire’ and ‘water’ disciplines: disciplined practice (rules, vows, routine) paired with cooling practices (prayerful bathing, charity, forgiveness) to keep devotion joyful rather than harsh.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: tirtha

FAQs

Cyavana is a revered Vedic sage (ṛṣi), often associated with ascetic power, ritual practice, and transformative sacred events; here he is depicted traveling with attendants and ritual fires.

It signals a ritual-ascetic setting: sacred fires represent ongoing vows, yajña/offerings, and the disciplined religious life accompanying the sage.

Pramoda-hrada is presented as a named sacred water-body; immersion/bathing indicates purification and the tirtha-oriented devotional culture common in Purāṇic narratives.
