Unspecified (narratorial voice; chapter context likely within a dialogue, but this verse alone does not name the speaker)

Concept: Rāma-kathā within the Solar dynasty narrative is intrinsically pāpa-hara (sin-destroying) and therefore a direct means of purification through śravaṇa (hearing).

Application: Regularly hear/recite Rāma’s life (even a short portion daily) as a conscious practice of inner cleansing and moral reorientation.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A luminous genealogical panorama unfolds like a celestial scroll: Solar-dynasty kings in regal procession, culminating in Rāma standing serene, bow in hand, as a river of golden script (kathā) flows from him, washing away dark smoke-like sins from listeners below. Lotus motifs rise behind Rāma, hinting at Viṣṇu’s cosmic lotus origin, while sages hold palm-leaf manuscripts that glow with purifying light.","primary_figures":["Rāma (Raghunātha)","Sūryavaṃśa kings (stylized)","assembled sages/listeners"],"setting":"Mythic court-and-forest threshold—half royal sabhā with pillars, half sacred grove with manuscript stands and ritual lamps.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["saffron gold","lotus pink","deep indigo","ivory white","emerald green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Rāma as Viṣṇu-avatāra centered with ornate crown and bow, Solar-dynasty kings in smaller registers, gold leaf halo and arch, gem-studded ornaments, rich maroon and emerald textiles, sacred manuscript and lotus motifs, sin-smoke dissolving into golden light.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: lyrical procession of Sūryavaṃśa kings leading to calm blue-toned Rāma, delicate linework, refined faces, soft forested background with flowering lotuses, subtle mist of ‘pāpa’ dispersing, cool yet radiant palette with gentle gradients.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold black outlines, Rāma with characteristic large eyes and greenish-blue complexion, stylized Solar emblems, layered narrative bands of kings, temple-lamp glow, natural pigment reds/yellows/greens, lotus medallions framing the purifying kathā-stream.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Rāma framed by lotus borders and golden floral vines, narrative panels of Solar kings around, peacocks and stylized lotuses, deep blue ground with gold highlights, devotional text ribbons suggesting kathā as sacred river."}

FAQs

The verse praises the marvelous life-stories (cāritra) of the kings born in the Solar dynasty (Sūryavaṃśa).

It states that the Rāma-kathā is “aneka-mahāpāpa-harā”—capable of removing many great sins.

That attentive engagement with exemplary royal conduct—especially Rāma’s dharmic deeds—purifies the listener and supports a dharma-centered life.
