The Churning of the Ocean
Milk Ocean Episode: Kālakūṭa, Hari-nāma, and Alakṣmī/Jyeṣṭhā
bhobho'maragaṇā yūyaṃ viṣaṃ kurutamādaram | vārayiṣyāmyahaṃ tūrṇaṃ kālakūṭaṃ mahāviṣam
Śiva (Mahādeva), addressing the devas (amaragaṇas)
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: celestial_realm
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It aligns with the Samudra-manthana (churning of the ocean) narrative, where the deadly Kālakūṭa/Hālāhala poison emerges and must be contained to save the worlds.
Śiva is speaking to the devas, declaring that he will swiftly restrain the Kālakūṭa poison and urging the gods to act with careful attention and urgency.
It highlights responsible leadership in crisis: when a destructive force arises, the wise and powerful intervene decisively for the welfare of all, while others are urged to respond with vigilance and discipline.
