Primary Rasa: karuna

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
Śyāmābāla compassionately asks an elderly woman who has caused her suffering, and the verse notes that the woman answers in a grief-choked voice.
It describes speech made unsteady or choking due to sorrow—an emotional, trembling voice shaped by grief.
The verse models empathetic engagement: noticing another’s distress, asking respectfully, and giving space for a sorrowful person to speak.
