Unspecified (context-dependent within Bhūmi-khaṇḍa Adhyāya 7)

Concept: Touch (sparśa) is a defining sensory quality; contact and embrace are fully knowable objects, not the self.

Application: Observe how touch triggers craving/aversion; set boundaries, practice purity (śauca), and redirect sensory longing into devotional acts (e.g., touching Tulasi with reverence, temple service).

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A symbolic scene inside a temple-like inner chamber representing the body: a personified ‘Skin/Touch’ deity holds a lotus-shaped mirror reflecting scenes of human contact—handshake, embrace, and accidental brush—each dissolving into ripples to show impermanence. Above, a subtle Vishnu-witness aura watches, indicating that touch is an object known, not the knower.","primary_figures":["Personified Sparśa (Touch)","Antaryāmin Vishnu (subtle aura)","Human figures in vignette panels"],"setting":"An inner sanctum metaphor for the body, with carved pillars shaped like nerve/lotus motifs and small narrative panels of human interactions.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["deep maroon","lamp-flame amber","ivory","indigo","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: a central personified Sparśa with ornate jewelry and a gold-leaf halo, holding a lotus-mirror showing miniature scenes of contact and embrace; Vishnu’s subtle aura above with gold leaf radiance; rich reds/greens, gem-studded ornaments, temple arch framing, intricate filigree borders.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: delicate interior scene with soft lamp glow; a graceful allegorical figure of Touch gestures toward small vignettes of human contact painted like miniature panels; cool indigo shadows, refined faces, lyrical restraint, fine textile patterns.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines depict Sparśa as a guardian-like figure in a sanctum, with stylized panels of touch-events; warm yellow-red lamp tones, green accents, large expressive eyes, mural symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central lotus medallion with the concept of sparśa shown through concentric rings—hands, bracelets, garlands—transforming into lotus petals; ornate floral borders, deep blue ground with gold highlights, peacocks at corners, devotional symbolism rather than realism."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"meditative","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["soft mridangam pulse","temple bells","quiet breath pauses","conch shell (distant)"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: मह्यमेतत्सत्यं → मह्यम् + एतत् + सत्यम्; वदाम्यहम् → वदामि + अहम्

FAQs

It highlights ‘sparśa’ (touch/contact) as the defining or most salient ‘guṇa’ (quality) for the speaker, encompassing human contact such as association and embrace.

In this wording it reads most naturally as ‘quality/attribute’ (a general guṇa), not explicitly as the three Sāṅkhya guṇas.

It can be read as a reminder that physical contact and attachment are powerful forces shaping conduct; therefore one should exercise discernment and restraint where such contact leads to bondage or distraction.
