Prayaga-mahatmya
Glory of Prayaga and the Magha Bath at Triveni
त्रीणि कुंडानि सुभगे तेषां मध्ये तु जाह्नवी । प्रयागस्य प्रवेशेन पापं नश्यति तत्क्षणात् ॥ ४५ ॥
trīṇi kuṃḍāni subhage teṣāṃ madhye tu jāhnavī | prayāgasya praveśena pāpaṃ naśyati tatkṣaṇāt || 45 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the Uttara-Bhaga tirtha-mahātmya context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares Prayāga as an exceptionally purifying tīrtha: even the act of entering its sacred boundary is said to eradicate pāpa immediately, emphasizing the power of tīrtha-saṅga and holy geography.
While not explicitly teaching a bhakti practice, it supports bhakti-culture by directing devotees toward sacred places connected with divine rivers like Gaṅgā, where faith-filled pilgrimage and reverence become aids to inner purification.
The verse mainly reflects tīrtha-dharma (pilgrimage discipline) rather than a specific Vedāṅga; practically, it implies rules of yātrā and snāna associated with sacred kundas and Gaṅgā-centered rites in Purāṇic tradition.
