Sūta (narrating the Narada Purana discourse; teaching on dāna in Uttara-bhāga)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It ranks specific acts of dāna (charitable gifting) by their karmic outcomes, showing how generosity becomes a dharmic means to attain higher lokas and social-spiritual merit (kīrti).
Indirectly: it presents dāna as a sattvic dharmic practice that purifies intention and supports sacred life; such purity is traditionally considered supportive for sustained Vishnu-bhakti, even though the verse itself focuses on karmaphala (results of giving).
Ritual-dharma application (kalpa-smṛti style practice): the verse functions like a prescriptive guide to dāna—what to give and the stated phala—used in planning rites and charity within a dharmic framework.
