It teaches the tirtha-mahātmya principle that certain holy waters and regions amplify the fruit of dharmic acts like snāna, using Kurukṣetra as a benchmark for sacred merit.
While focused on pilgrimage merit, it supports bhakti by encouraging reverent approach to sacred places—snāna and tīrtha-sevā performed with devotion are presented as powerful aids for purification and God-centered living.
Primarily Kalpa in practice: it emphasizes the ritual act of snāna/avagāha (ablution) at tīrthas and the doctrine of varying fruits (phala) based on place (deśa) as taught in dharma and tīrtha traditions.
