Ekadashi–Dvadashi Mahatmya in the Rukmangada Cycle
ब्रह्महत्यादिपापानि अभुक्त्वैव जना द्विज । समुपोष्य दिनं विष्णोः प्रयांति हरिमंदिरम् ॥ ३४ ॥
brahmahatyādipāpāni abhuktvaiva janā dvija | samupoṣya dinaṃ viṣṇoḥ prayāṃti harimaṃdiram || 34 ||
اے دُو بار جنم والے! لوگ برہماہتیا وغیرہ گناہوں کے پھل بھوگے بغیر، وِشنو کے لیے ایک دن پورا روزہ رکھ کر ہری کے دھام کو پہنچ جاتے ہیں۔

Vrata: Ekādaśī (Viṣṇu-upavāsa)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that sincere Viṣṇu-centered upavāsa (fasting) has the power to destroy even grave karmic impurities, leading the devotee toward Hari’s transcendent abode.
Bhakti is expressed through a concrete vrata: fasting “for Viṣṇu.” The verse emphasizes that devotion-backed discipline, not mere punishment, becomes the means to purification and divine attainment.
Ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented vrata practice) is implied: observing upavāsa properly for a prescribed duration (one day) with Viṣṇu as the intended deity (saṅkalpa and niyama).
