Mohinī-prashna
The Question about Mohinī
sarve te narakaṃ yāṃti hyapratiṣṭhaśca yo dvijāḥ | ayaṃ hi niyamopeto haripūjanatatparaḥ || 47 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the Uttara-Bhaga context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It contrasts unstable, unconsecrated living (apratiṣṭhā) that leads to downfall with disciplined religious observance (niyama) that culminates in single-pointed devotion to Hari.
Bhakti is presented as not merely emotion but a regulated commitment: when one is niyama-upeta (guided by vows and restraints), one becomes hari-pūjana-tatpara—steadfast in Vishnu worship.
The emphasis is on ritual discipline and correct observance (niyama), aligning with Kalpa/Vedāṅga concerns—how worship and vows are properly established and maintained.
