Suta (narrating the Narada Purana’s chapter-wise contents in an anukramanika style)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: raudra
As an anukramanika (contents-index) verse, it signals key dharmic narratives—dynastic remembrance, righteous kingship, and the gravity of pitṛ-dharma—used to frame moral causality across the Purana’s stories.
Indirectly: by pointing to puranic histories that illustrate dharma and adharma, it prepares the listener for Vishnu-centered bhakti teachings elsewhere in the text, where devotion is strengthened through reflection on exemplary lives and consequences of action.
The verse is primarily a thematic index rather than a Vedanga lesson; its practical takeaway is dharma-oriented—pitṛkārya (duty to one’s father/ancestors) as a guiding principle in conduct and ritual responsibility.
