FAQs

It frames the Liṅga Purāṇa as a spiritually efficacious text and highlights a classic Purāṇic principle: śravaṇa (hearing) and pāṭha (recitation) themselves function as sādhanā, yielding both bhukti (well-being in life) and mukti (liberation).

By emphasizing attentive hearing and reverent recitation, the verse points to bhakti-practices centered on sacred narration—engaging the mind in the divine through kathā-śravaṇa and text-recitation as devotional discipline.

No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; it instead highlights the practical discipline of pāṭha and śravaṇa—how Purāṇic study is traditionally undertaken and valued for its stated results (phala).
