Adhyaya 92 — Devi’s Assurance of Protection and the Fruits of Reciting the Devi Mahatmyam
devyuvāca
ebhiḥ stavaiś ca māṃ nityaṃ stoṣyate yaḥ samāhitaḥ |
tasyāhaṃ sakalāṃ bādhāṃ nāśayiṣyāmy asaṃśayam ||
Steady, attentive devotion (samādhāna/samāhita-citta) is presented as transformative: the text links inner collectedness with outer protection, encouraging disciplined, regular worship rather than sporadic petition.
Primarily Dharmānuśāsana and phalaśruti within the broader Purāṇic teaching function; indirectly connected to Manvantara framing (Sāvarṇi) as part of the narrative setting of Devī Māhātmyam in the Markandeya Purāṇa.
‘Bādhā’ can be read as both external adversity and internal impediments (vighna, kleśa). The promise signifies that sustained mantra-stuti with concentrated mind dissolves obstacles to dharma and spiritual clarity.
