Adhyaya 53 — Rudrasarga and the Measure of the Manvantaras: Svayambhuva Manu, Priyavrata’s Line, and the Seven Dvipas
sasamudrākaravatī prativarṣaṃ tretāyuge tathā |
priyavratasya putrais taiḥ pautraiḥ svāyambhuvasya ca ||
Cosmic time (yuga) and social order move together: righteous governance is presented as recurring across ages through well-ordered lineage and responsibility.
Manvantara and Vaṃśānucarita, with cosmographic framing; the yuga reference supports Purāṇic time-structuring within dynastic narration.
Mentioning Tretāyuga signals a ‘bright’ phase of dharma; the text implies that cosmic environments and human institutions co-arise in patterned cycles.
