Adhyaya 48 — The Emanation of Beings from Brahma: Night, Day, Twilight, and the Orders of Creation
sṛṣṭvā pitṝn utsasarja tanuṃ tām api sa prabhuḥ |
sā cotsṛṣṭābhavat sandhyā divā-naktāntara-sthitā ||

Liminal times (sandhyā) are cosmically significant; this underwrites the dharmic emphasis on sandhyā-vandana and disciplined transitions in daily life.
Sarga: establishment of temporal structures that later become ritual anchors.
Sandhyā symbolizes the threshold state—neither fully sattvic day nor tamasic night—where transformation is easiest; hence it is ritually charged.
