इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे मदालसोपाख्याने पञ्चविंशोऽध्यायः ।

षड्विंशोऽध्यायः ।

जड उवाच

वर्धमानं सुतं सा तु राजपत्नी दिने दिने ।

तमुल्लापादिना बोधमनयन्निर्ममात्मकम् ॥

یوں شری مارکنڈیہ پران کے مدالسا-قصے میں پچیسواں باب ختم ہوا۔ اب چھبیسواں باب شروع ہوتا ہے۔ جڑ نے کہا—دن بہ دن جب بیٹا بڑھتا گیا تو اس ملکہ نے لوریاں وغیرہ کے ذریعے اسے سمجھایا اور اسے بےتعلّق، بےملکیت (اپریگرہ) مزاج والا بناتی گئی۔
