अर्जुनस्य इन्द्रकीलगमनम् तथा शक्रसाक्षात्कारः
Arjuna’s journey to Indrakīla and encounter with Indra
पुरा प्रहरतां श्रेष्ठ: संग्रामेष्वपराजित: । यच्छुत्वा नरसिंहाना दैन्यहर्षातिविस्मयात्
janamejaya uvāca | purā praharatāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ saṅgrāmeṣv aparājitaḥ | yac chrutvā narasiṃhānāṃ dainyaharṣātivismayāt, brahman! mayā śrutaṃ—kadācid yuddheṣv aparājitaḥ yodhānāṃ śreṣṭho 'rjunaḥ pūrvakāle bhagavatā śaṅkareṇa sārdham atyadbhutam anupamaṃ romāñcakāri yuddham akarot; tac chrutvā manuṣyeṣu śreṣṭhāḥ śūrāḥ kuntīputrā api dainyaharṣavismayakāraṇāt kampam āpuḥ | arjunena anye 'pi ye ye kṛtāḥ kāryāḥ, tān sarvān api me vada |
جنمیجیہ نے کہا— اے برہمن! میں نے سنا ہے کہ قدیم زمانے میں ارجن—جو جنگجوؤں میں سب سے برتر اور میدانِ جنگ میں کبھی مغلوب نہ ہوا—نے بھگوان شنکر کے ساتھ نہایت عجیب، بےمثال اور رونگٹے کھڑے کر دینے والی جنگ کی تھی۔ اسے سن کر انسانوں میں افضل وہ شجاع کنتی پتروں کے دلوں میں بھی اداسی، مسرت اور حیرت کے باعث لرزہ طاری ہو گیا تھا۔ ارجن کے دیگر تمام اعمال بھی مجھے بتائیے۔
