क्रोशमात्रमुपागम्य तस्माद् देशान्निमित्तत: । श्वोभूते मनुजव्याप्राश्छन्नवासार्थमुद्यता:
krośamātram upāgamya tasmād deśān nimittataḥ | śvobhūte manujavyāprāś channavāsārtham udyatāḥ,
کسی خاص سبب سے وہ اس مقام سے ایک کروش دور جا کر ٹھہر گئے۔ اگلے دن سے اَجْنات واس (پوشیدہ قیام) شروع کرنے کے لیے آمادہ ہو کر، باہمی مشورے کی خاطر وہ قریب قریب بیٹھ گئے۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights prudent, dharma-aligned strategy: before undertaking a risky transition (incognito living), wise people create distance from immediate danger, gather calmly, and deliberate together—knowing when conciliation (sandhi) or confrontation (vigraha) is appropriate.
After leaving a certain location, the group moves about one krośa away and stops. Anticipating the next day, they prepare to begin their concealed residence and sit together to consult and plan their next steps.
